Baseball Recap: Milan Find Success

Milan lost to St. Mary Catholic Central back in April, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Big Reds walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Falcons/Kestrels. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Big Reds.

Cameron Dessellier spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up eight Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Milan is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 8-13 otherwise.

At the plate, Milan saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Steinke, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Larry Shock III was another, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Milan's record now sits at 11-14. As for St. Mary Catholic Central, their loss dropped their record down to 13-4-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Milan will host Jefferson at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for St. Mary Catholic Central, they will be playing at home against Riverview at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons/Kestrels are facing the Pirates at the right time seeing as the Pirates are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
