Softball Recap: Whitewright Comes Up Short

Whitewright and Bland squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Whitewright had to settle for second. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bland. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, Whitewright's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Whitewright has also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-20 record this season. As for Bland, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 20-8.

While Whitewright had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Saturday.
