Baseball Recap: Mount Juliet Triumphs

Mount Juliet won the last time they faced Northeast and things went their way on Thursday too. The Golden Bears skirted past the Eagles 5-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Golden Bears.

Matthew Dickey looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Matthew McQueary, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

Mount Juliet's win bumped their record up to 7-17-1. As for Northeast, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-16.

Mount Juliet does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Northeast, they will challenge Dickson County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
