Ysleta had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Irvin Rockets with a sharp 15-1 win. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 10-0 win last Saturday.

Adry Botello looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Ysleta is 4-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 7-12 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Evan Martinez was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Ismael Morales also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Ysleta kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Irvin only managed four hits.

Ysleta pushed their record up to 11-13 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Irvin, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-16-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ysleta will head out to challenge Bel Air at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Highlanders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.14 runs per game on average), something the Indians will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Irvin, they will venture away from home to take on Riverside at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
