Basketball Game Preview: Kingston Tigers vs. Newburgh Free Academy Goldbacks

Kingston hasn't had much luck against Newburgh Free Academy recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Kingston Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Newburgh Free Academy Goldbacks at 6:30 p.m. Kingston is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.

On Monday, Kingston didn't have too much trouble with Pine Bush as they won 61-46. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Bushmen are ranked 358th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Newburgh Free Academy came up short against North Rockland back in December of 2024 and fell 57-47. The loss was the Goldbacks' first of the season.

Kingston pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Newburgh Free Academy, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
