Softball Preview: Creekside Knights vs. Atlantic Coast Stingrays
Creekside is 8-1 against Atlantic Coast since March of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Creekside Knights will square off against the Atlantic Coast Stingrays at 6:00 p.m. Creekside is looking to tack on another W to their 14-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
Creekside is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Bartram Trail and snuck past 5-4.
Carly Dall was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Dall has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive pitching appearances. Dall was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three doubles and four RBI.
Dall wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Nickiyah Walker, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Meanwhile, Atlantic Coast can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They never let Mandarin onto the board and left with a 1-0 victory.
Not much got past Morgan Brown, who gave up just three hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Mandarin off the board.
On the hitting side, Emma Cano was excellent, going 3-for-4 with a stolen base and an RBI.
Creekside has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which somehow isn't as good as their 19-5 record this season. As for Atlantic Coast, their win bumped their record up to 12-13.
