Basketball Recap: Evergreen Valley Comes Up Short

Evergreen Valley lost against Mountain View back in December of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Evergreen Valley Cougars lost to the Mountain View Spartans on the road by a 58-41 margin. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 597th, while the Spartans are ranked 121st).

Leading Mountain View to victory were Jaden Feller and Jayden Minor. Feller went 6 of 12 en route to 15 points along with seven boards and four steals, while Minor went 7 of 15 on his way to 20 points along with six boards and four steals. Those four steals gave Feller a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Shahraz, who posted seven points.

Evergreen Valley's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Mountain View, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Evergreen Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 71-17 victory against San Jose on the 11th. As for Mountain View, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 64-44 win against Harker on the 12th.
