Softball Recap: Sachem East Takes a Loss

If Sachem East was riding high fresh off their 9-2 takedown of Walt Whitman last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Sachem East fell just short of the Connetquot T-Birds by a score of 6-5 on Friday. Sachem East hasn't had much luck with Connetquot recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Xiomara Llerena was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Madigan, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Sachem East's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Connetquot, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Sachem East will face off against Bay Shore at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Connetquot, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Walt Whitman at 5:00 p.m. on the 25th.
