Baseball Recap: Collegiate Takes a Loss

Collegiate couldn't beat Andale/Garden Plain on Thursday even though they stacked eight runs on them in the third inning. The Spartans fell just short of the Indians by a score of 15-14. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-4 on Thursday.

Gavin Klausmeyer stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Carson Malaise, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Collegiate's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Andale/Garden Plain, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-2.

Coming up, Collegiate will square off against Rose Hill at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Andale/Garden Plain, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Buhler at 4:00 p.m. on May 5.
