Cliff extended their winning streak to 13 on Thursday, bumping them up to 21-1. They claimed a resounding 58-23 win over the Animas Panthers. The Cowboys/Cowgirls have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 games by 21 points or more this season.

As for Animas, they dropped their record down to 2-18 with the loss, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while Cliff is ranked 21st).

Animas lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Mckenna Tassie, who posted eight points. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last three times she's played.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Cliff will square off against rival Quemado at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Animas is set to take on their familiar foe Magdalena at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
