Recap: Overhills Jaguars vs. Harnett Central Trojans
The Overhills Jaguars won the last time they faced the Harnett Central Trojans, and things went their way on Friday too. Overhills walked away with a 63-52 win over Harnett Central.
Overhills got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ja?von Motta out in front who scored 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Motta has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Chauncy Kelly, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Harnett Central saw an underclassman step up: Kyrese Williams scored 14 points along with six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Malachi Elliott, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds.
Overhills' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-9. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Harnett Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Overhills will face off against Triton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Triton has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 422 points over their last seven games. As for Harnett Central, they will head out on the road to square off against Pine Forest at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pine Forest is facing Harnett Central at the right time seeing as Harnett Central is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
