Preview: Cleburne County Tigers vs. Woodland Bobcats

Cleburne County is 7-1 against Woodland since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Cleburne County Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Woodland Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Cleburne County and seven for Woodland.

Cleburne County suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Saturday. They were the victim of a tough 70-44 loss at the hands of Jacksonville. While losing is never fun, Cleburne County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 285th, while Jacksonville is ranked 50th).

Meanwhile, Woodland took a serious blow against Wadley on Thursday, falling 71-40. Woodland was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-12.

Cleburne County bumped their record down to 11-9 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points per game. As for Woodland, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season.

Everything went Cleburne County's way against Woodland when the teams last played back in February of 2022 as Cleburne County made off with a 75-49 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cleburne County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
