Football Game Preview: West Stokes Wildcats vs. Mount Airy Granite Bears

The West Stokes Wildcats will face off against the Mount Airy Granite Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. West Stokes is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

West Stokes is likely headed into the game with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Forbush on Friday. The Wildcats took a 24-17 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mount Airy). They claimed a resounding 63-21 win over North Surry. The Granite Bears not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since November 15, 2024 (when they won 68-0).

Mount Airy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Braddox Sumner, Taeshon Martin, and Aidan Pomeroy picked up one apiece.

The victory made it two in a row for Mount Airy and bumps their season record up to 4-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 49.5 points over those games. As for West Stokes, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.
