Basketball Recap: Quantico Takes a Loss

Quantico was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 62-51 to the Wakefield Country Day Owls. The Warriors were down 51-28 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Alfredo Martinez was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 16 rebounds for Wakefield Country Day. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Martinez has scored at least a third of Wakefield Country Day's points. Another player making a difference was Will Wofford, who posted nine points and four steals.

Quantico's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Wakefield Country Day, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Quantico will welcome Wakefield School at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wakefield Country Day, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Wakefield Country Day Owls take on the King Abdullah Academy Falcons at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
