Softball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Olympian's Fourth in Last Five Outings

Olympian had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Hilltop on Friday. The Eagles' pitcher stepped up to hand the Lancers a 10-0 shutout. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Not much got past Alexandra Perez, who gave up just five hits to keep Hilltop off the board. Perez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jaiden Liera was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those runs were her first of the season. Kayleigh Macharia was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI.

Olympian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hilltop only posted a batting average of .200.

Olympian is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-12-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Hilltop, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-11-1.

Coming up, Olympian will head out to face off against Mar Vista at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Hilltop, they will be playing at home against San Diego at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
