Softball Recap: Four Straight Home Wins for Sherando

12 must be Sherando's lucky number: they beat Warren County with that score not once but twice on Thursday. The Warriors beat the Wildcats by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 12-2. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Aubrey Weir spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Sherando let Lilian Wray and Sophia Zimmerman run wild. Wray went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Zimmerman went 1-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. Madalyn Cox was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Sherando kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive contests.

Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Warren County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.
