Gainesville came tearing into Thursday's game with four straight wins and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 60-50 win over the Columbia Tigers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 50-41 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Columbia still got an impressive performance from Zavian Douglas, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Douglas a new career-high in assists (four). Shaheed White was another key player, putting up ten points along with six boards and three steals.

Gainesville is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for Columbia, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-9.

Gainesville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-41 victory against Buchholz on the 24th. Columbia has also already played their next game, a 64-57 win against Santa Fe on the 24th.
