Basketball Recap: Monday's Loss Ends Christian Life's Winning Streak

If Christian Life was feeling good fresh off their 62-25 takedown of Westminster Christian last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Christian Life Eagles took a 67-52 bruising from the Rock County Christian Eagles on Monday. While losing is never fun, Christian Life can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 543rd in Illinois, while Rock County Christian is ranked 211th in Wisconsin).

Rock County Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gideon Ukwuorji, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 boards. The dominant performance gave Ukwuorji a new career-high in rebounds. Tony Thompson was another key player, going 7 for 9 en route to 19 points and seven boards.

With the defeat, Christian Life broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-7. As for Rock County Christian, they pushed their record up to 15-3 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road.

Christian Life won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Oakhill Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Christian Life is facing Oakhill Christian at the right time seeing as Oakhill Christian is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Rock County Christian, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll face off against Academy of Excellence at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rock County Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Academy of Excellence likes a good challenge.
