Volleyball Recap: Lafayette Takes a Loss

Lafayette entered their matchup against Columbus East on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Lafayette took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Columbus East. The Generals' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Lafayette was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-22.

Jake Peterson paced Lafayette's offense, picking up seven kills. Peterson got some help from Jaiden Vanover and his 17 assists.

Lafayette's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Columbus East, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Lafayette will host Tates Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Columbus East, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Fort Wayne Snider on the 29th.
