The Manchester Red Hawks earned a 26-14 victory over the Trumbull Eagles on Friday. The Red Hawks pushed the score to 20-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles cut but never quite recovered from.

Manchester's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jeremiah Pinckney, who rushed for 68 yards and a pair of TDs. Kaden Bradford made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Manchester proved: they limited Trumbull to a paltry 3.2 yards per carry. While one picked up at least five total tackles, Stacy Asberry stood above the rest. He rushed for 57 yards. Manchester's ground attack was stronger, having averaged five.

Manchester's defense didn't let Caleb Wuchiski, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for four sacks. Caleb Braye-Entsiwah was especially locked on to Trumbull's QB and sacked him twice. Bradford got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Manchester's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Trumbull, they now also have a losing record of 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Manchester will challenge Maloney at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Red Hawks' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Trumbull, they will square off against Bridgeport Central at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
