Softball Game Preview: Fairview Warriors vs. Kirtland Hornets

The Fairview Warriors will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Kirtland Hornets at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Fairview is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game dating back to last season back in March. They lost 15-2 to Strongsville.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Kirtland and Crestwood, and Crestwood kept the tradition alive. The Hornets fell just short of the Red Devils by a score of 11-10 on Wednesday. Even if the Hornets couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Adison Fleming was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off two home runs, four runs, and five RBI while going 3-for-4. Those home runs were her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Maggie Kothera, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-5.
