Basketball Recap: Sheldon Taylor Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Caddo Mills

There's no place like home for Wills Point, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 59-50 win over the Caddo Mills Foxes on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Tigers: when they faced off against the Foxes back in January, they had to take a 57-51 loss.

Wills Point's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sheldon Taylor led the charge by dropping a double-double on 17 points and 11 boards. Those 17 points gave Taylor a new career-high. Chris James was another key player, going 8 for 13 to rack up 22 points along with six assists and three steals.

Wills Point's victory bumped their record up to 7-23. As for Caddo Mills, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-22 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wills Point will venture away from home to challenge Sunnyvale at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sunnyvale will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Wills Point surely won't give up without a fight. As for Caddo Mills, they will head out to take on Community at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
