Basketball Game Preview: South Lake Cavaliers vs. Regina

South Lake is 0-4 against Regina since March of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The South Lake Cavaliers will take on Regina in a tournament on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

South Lake took a loss when they played away from home last Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They walked away with a 57-49 win over Harper Woods. The victory was some much needed relief for the Cavaliers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Regina had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.4 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. They blew past the Eagles, posting a 68-22 win. Given Regina's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 98th, while Chandler Park Academy is ranked 521st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

South Lake's victory bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Regina, their win bumped their record up to 12-9.
