Volleyball Recap: Troy's Undefeated Season over After 11 Games

Troy was the 3-2 winner over Williamsport when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Trojans fell just short of the Millionaires by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. While the Trojans didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Millionaires 25-19 in the first set.

Troy started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 16-25, 25-20, 25-22, 15-12.

Aryana Andrus paced Troy's offense, picking up 18 kills. Andrus got some help from Brenna Jackson and her 16 assists. Liana Lyon and Alexa Lawrence kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with four aces apiece.

Having lost for the first time this season, Troy fell to 9-1-1. As for Williamsport, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Troy is set to challenge their familiar foe Canton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Williamsport will square off against rival Hughesville at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The contest will give the Millionaires their first taste of in-conference action this season.
