Basketball Game Preview: Foxfire Phoenix vs. Columbus Torah Academy Lions

The Foxfire Phoenix just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Columbus Torah Academy Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Foxfire has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Foxfire is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed by Ohio School for the Deaf to the tune of 72-33 on Tuesday. The Phoenix have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 25 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Columbus Torah Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Sunday as they fell 45-40 to Denver Academy of Torah. The Lions have struggled against the Wolves recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Foxfire's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.7 points per game. As for Columbus Torah Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Foxfire beat Columbus Torah Academy 44-33 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Foxfire since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
