Football Game Recap: Murray vs. Mayfield

Mayfield were successful in their last outing against Murray, and they didn't afford Murray any payback this time around. Everything came up roses for Mayfield against Murray on Friday as the squad secured a 63-28 victory. Followers of Mayfield probably expected little less of the team in a season in which they have collected six blowout victories.

The contest started off well for Mayfield, whose offense put up 42 first-half points. Murray wasn't quite able to keep up, scoring 28 to make it 42-28 heading into the break. The Mayfield defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the matchup. The win bumped Mayfield's record up to 7-0. The loss dropped Murray's record to 4-3.

Mayfield will be staying on the road in two weeks, facing off against Ballard Memorial. Murray will have some time to rest before their next match, which is against Webster County at 7:00 PM.
