Basketball Game Preview: Purnell Swett Rams vs. Jack Britt Buccaneers

Purnell Swett and Jack Britt are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2021, but not for long. The Purnell Swett Rams will face off against the Jack Britt Buccaneers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Purnell Swett is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.

Purnell Swett is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Lumberton on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Purnell Swett was dealt a 73-38 defeat at the hands of Lumberton. The Rams were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-10.

Meanwhile, Jack Britt fought the good fight in their overtime contest against South View on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 63-54 to the Tigers. The Buccaneers haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Jack Britt's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Purnell Swett, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-13.

Purnell Swett skirted past Jack Britt 50-48 in their previous meeting on January 7th. The rematch might be a little tougher for Purnell Swett since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
