Basketball Recap: Clinton Extends Winning Streak to Three

Clinton waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Eau Claire Shamrocks, sneaking past 34-31. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 36-28 last Thursday.

Clinton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bryanna Belton, who went 5-for-7 to rack up 13 points in addition to six boards and three steals. What's more, Belton also posted a 71% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was McKenzie Clark, who posted ten points.

Despite the loss, Eau Claire still got an impressive performance from Destinee Tiller, who had 19 points and three steals. Tiller is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Syteria Bethel was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and ten rebounds.

Clinton's record now sits at 18-5. As for Eau Claire, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-8.

Clinton has already played their next contest, a 55-27 win against Mid-Carolina on the 11th. As for Eau Claire, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 41-16 victory against Columbia on the 11th.
