Basketball Game Preview: Gates County Red Barons vs. East Wake Academy Eagles

Gates County's usually-dominant defense will be looking to make up for Tuesday's struggle, when Perquimans offense got past them. Gates County fell just short of Perquimans by a score of 56-54 on Tuesday.

Despite their loss, Gates County saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Zebriya Woodley, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 11 boards, was perhaps the best of all. Woodley is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last seven games she's played. Zoey Nowell was another key player, dropping a double-double with ten points and 12 rebounds.

Meanwhile, East Wake Academy lost 65-40 to Falls Lake on Tuesday.

East Wake Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Gates County, their loss dropped their record down to 22-2.
