Recap: Brenham Cubs vs. Huntsville Hornets
After a string of three wins, The Brenham Cubs''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Huntsville by a score of 39-36. Brenham was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Huntsville apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Despite the loss, Brenham still got an impressive performance from Jordan Harvey, who threw for 306 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.8 yards per attempt, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. Chris Guidry was another key contributor, picking up 145 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Brenham's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Huntsville, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.
Brenham will look to defend their home field on Friday against Lake Creek at 7:30 p.m. Lake Creek is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. As for Huntsville, they will square off against Randle at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Randle has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 441 points over their last nine games.
