Baseball Game Preview: Fountain Inn Fury vs. Daniel Lions

The Fountain Inn Fury will face off against the Daniel Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Fountain Inn 3, Daniel 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Fountain Inn fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Daniel on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 8-7. The Fury's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

For Daniel's part, they got a great performance from Ian McCrary as he struck out eight batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). McCrary has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Spencer Conn was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-5. Quint Cumbie was another key player, scoring a run while going 5-for-5.

Daniel's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Fountain Inn, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2-1.
