Basketball Game Preview: La Porte Bulldogs vs. Santa Fe Indians

Two dominant guards in Trent Callies and Aidan Jewell are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. Having just played yesterday, the La Porte Bulldogs will get right back to it and host the Santa Fe Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in La Porte's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home while Santa Fe has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

If La Porte beats Santa Fe with 73 points on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. La Porte came out on top against Ball by a score of 73-66 on Thursday. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 165th, while the Tornadoes are ranked 371st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Santa Fe lost 72-46 to Iowa Colony on Tuesday.

Santa Fe's defeat dropped their record down to 10-17. As for La Porte, their victory bumped their record up to 19-9.

Everything came up roses for La Porte against Santa Fe in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the squad secured an 82-51 win. Does La Porte have another victory up their sleeve, or will Santa Fe turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
