Softball Game Preview: Fraser Ramblers vs. Renaissance Phoenix

The Fraser Ramblers will face off against the Renaissance Phoenix on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Renaissance will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Fraser extended their winning streak to four on Wednesday. The Ramblers blew past Royal Oak 15-4.

Fraser got a great performance from Camilla Dawood as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over 5.1 innings pitched. Dawood has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Madison MacLeod, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Mckernan, who went 2-for-4 with four runs and two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Renaissance can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game last Wednesday. Everything went their way against Dearborn as they made off with a 22-10 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Phoenix needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Renaissance's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-10. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for Fraser, their victory bumped their record up to 19-10.
