Basketball Recap: Guthrie Comes Up Short

Guthrie was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 76-24 defeat at the hands of the Bishop Kelley Comets. While losing is never fun, the Bluejays can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 407th, while the Comets are ranked 97th).

Leading Bishop Kelley to victory were Julia Grisaffe and Anne Blankenship. Grisaffe went 7 of 9 en route to 14 points and three steals, while Blankenship went 5 for 9 on her way to 11 points along with five assists and five boards. Another player making a difference was Kennedy Wray, who posted six points.

Guthrie's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Bishop Kelley, they pushed their record up to 11-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Guthrie has already played their next matchup (against Claremore), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Bishop Kelley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 54-33 defeat against Shawnee on the 31st.
