Baseball Recap: Magnolia Wins Going Away Against Valley

Magnolia got themselves on the board against Valley on Thursday, but Valley never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Lumberjacks with a sharp 10-0 win. The Blue Eagles haven't had any issues with the Lumberjacks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Aiden Fluharty was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out nine over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Rydge Moffitt was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Magnolia's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 4-1 (and 3-11 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Joey Mason, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI.

Magnolia's record is now 7-12. As for Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.

Looking ahead, Magnolia will square off against Clay-Battelle at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Valley, they will face off against Hundred at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
