Volleyball Recap: Jefferson Blue Jays vs. Valle Catholic Warriors
After flying high against Collegiate Medicine & Bioscience on Wednesday, Jefferson came back down to earth. The Blue Jays lost 3-0 to the Valle Catholic Warriors on Thursday. The Blue Jays haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-20, 25-8.
Ryleigh Johnson paced Jefferson's offense, picking up ten kills. Johnson got some help from Halayna Loyd and her 16 assists. Loyd was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.
Valle Catholic's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Adyson Rayoum, who had 14 digs and one assist. That's the most digs Rayoum has posted since back in September. Payton Naeger was another key player, getting 11 assists and six digs.
Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 18-12-4. As for Valle Catholic, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-6-1 record this season.
As of now, neither Jefferson nor Valle Catholic have any future games scheduled.
