Baseball Recap: Tome Gets the Win

Tome's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They never let the ASPIRA Charter Wolves get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Titans needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Blaine Pendergraft was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Matt Woods was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

Tome always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Tome's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for ASPIRA Charter, their loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Tome will welcome Perry Hall Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Perry Hall Christian will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Tome surely won't give up without a fight. As for ASPIRA Charter, they will challenge Odyssey Charter at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
