After a string of nine wins, Bangor's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. The match between them and the Marshfield Tigers didn't end well, with the Bangor Cardinals falling 62-48. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Cardinals came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 45th, while the Tigers are ranked 183rd).

Marshfield got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Zaida Kolbeck out in front who posted 22 points. Kolbeck's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Ridgway, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards.

Bangor's defeat dropped their record down to 13-3. As for Marshfield, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Bangor Cardinals challenge the Hillsboro Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Marshfield, they will venture away from home to challenge Baraboo at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
