Football Game Preview: Searcy Lions vs. Jacksonville Titans

Searcy is a perfect 7-0 against Jacksonville since September of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Lions will head out to challenge the Titans at 7:00 p.m. Searcy will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

Searcy is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Watson Chapel: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Lions blew the Wildcats out of the water with a 56-12 final score. The matchup marked the Lions' most dominant win of the season so far.

Searcy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jackson Smith out in front who picked up 90 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. The Lions also got help from Bryson Thompson, who showed off his sure hands for 91 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, Jacksonville played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Robinson, falling 42-7. The Titans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-0.

Searcy will have to contain Mason Ball as he made an impact in Jacksonville's last game. He rushed for 78 yards and one TD.

This is the second loss in a row for Jacksonville and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for Searcy, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's game: Searcy has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 364.8 total yards per game. It's a different story for Jacksonville, though, as they've been averaging only 246.5 total yards. Will Searcy be able to march up the field at their leisure again, or will the Titans flip the script?

Everything came up roses for Searcy against Jacksonville when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 47-7 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
