Basketball Game Preview: Edgewood-Colesburg Vikings vs. North Linn Lynx

Edgewood-Colesburg is 1-9 against North Linn since February of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Edgewood-Colesburg Vikings will face off against the North Linn Lynx at 7:30 p.m. Edgewood-Colesburg has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 172 points over their last three games.

If Edgewood-Colesburg beats North Linn with 57 points on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. Edgewood-Colesburg strolled past North Cedar with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 57-38. That's two games straight that the Vikings have won by exactly 19 points.

Meanwhile, North Linn waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They took down the Lions 65-50. Given the Lynx's advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while the Lions are ranked 128th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Edgewood-Colesburg's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for North Linn, their win bumped their record up to 12-1.

Edgewood-Colesburg was taken down by North Linn 84-48 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can Edgewood-Colesburg avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
