Basketball Game Preview: Water Valley Wildcats vs. Munday Moguls

The Water Valley Wildcats are taking a road trip to challenge the Munday Moguls at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Water Valley is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Buena Vista 75-45. The Wildcats' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Munday entered their tilt with Westbrook on Thursday with 15 consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with 16. They came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 48-36.

Munday's win came from a few key players Water Valley will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Caisen Lee, who went 6-for-10 from beyond the arc en route to 18 points. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (60%). Another player making a difference was Haiden Bowman, who posted nine points in addition to eight boards and five assists.

Munday smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in 17 consecutive matches.

Munday pushed their record up to 28-5 with the win, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.2 points over those games. As for Water Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-6.

Water Valley couldn't quite finish off Munday in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 and fell 43-41. Can Water Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
