Baseball Game Preview: Clarksburg Rockets vs. West Carroll War Eagles

For the first time this season, Clarksburg will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Monday. They will welcome the West Carroll War Eagles at 5:00 p.m. West Carroll took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Clarksburg, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with six defeats in a row dating back to last season, Clarksburg turned things around against Liberty Tech Magnet on Thursday. They came out on top against the Crusaders by a score of 12-7. The Rockets' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, West Carroll was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 12-2 to Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central.

West Carroll saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Taylor, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Clarksburg's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for West Carroll, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Clarksburg couldn't quite get it done against West Carroll in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 as they fell 10-6. Can Clarksburg avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
