Chattanooga Central is 8-1 against Howard Tech since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Pounders will venture away from home to square off against the Hustlin' Tigers at 5:30 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Chattanooga Central has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Howard Tech will arrive with three straight victories.

Chattanooga Central might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 3-1 to Hixson, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Chattanooga Central saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sanaa Townsend, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Howard Tech made easy work of Grace Baptist Academy on Tuesday and carried off an 11-4 win. The Hustlin' Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by seven runs or more this season.

Howard Tech's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-6. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Chattanooga Central, their loss dropped their record down to 13-8.

Everything went Chattanooga Central's way against Howard Tech when the teams last played back in March, as Chattanooga Central made off with a 14-6 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pounders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
