Basketball Recap: Houston County Takes a Loss

Houston County lost against Thomas County Central back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Houston County Bears fell to the Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets 39-34. The Bears' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it ten in a row.

Jaida Pinkins was a one-woman wrecking crew for Thomas County Central as she posted 15 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Pinkins has scored at least a third of Thomas County Central's points. Another player making a difference was Nia Hayes, who scored 11 points and three steals.

Houston County's record is now 5-18. As for Thomas County Central, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-12.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Coffee the next time they take the court. Thomas County Central will host Coffee at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while Houston County will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
