Baseball Game Preview: Atlee Raiders vs. Midlothian Trojans

The Atlee Raiders are taking a road trip to take on the Midlothian Trojans at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Atlee will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

Atlee is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Virginia's top teams: Hanover, who was ranked 16th at the time (Atlee was ranked 15th). The Raiders never let the Hawks get on the board and left with a 4-0 win on Friday. The Raiders' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last six matches.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Midlothian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Cosby with a sharp 10-0 victory on Thursday.

Atlee's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Midlothian, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.

Atlee took their win against Midlothian in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 9-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
