Volleyball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Briggs

Briggs entered their tilt with Eastmoor Academy on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 3-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in March.

While Briggs won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-8, 27-25.

Alex Xayavong paced Briggs' offense, picking up 13 kills. Xayavong got some help from Daniel Cung and his 23 assists. Chris Reyes controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Briggs' victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Eastmoor Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Briggs will square off against Hilliard Bradley at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bruins are facing the Jaguars at the right time seeing as the Jaguars are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Eastmoor Academy, they will challenge Walnut Ridge at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
