The Chaparral Wolverines are taking a road trip to take on the Brighton Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chaparral is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

On Saturday, Chaparral was able to grind out a solid win over Liberty, taking the game 7-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolverines.

Chaparral got a great performance from Tommy Humphrey as he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits.

At the plate, Chaparral's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Carson Munroe, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Another was Ryne Dodson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Brighton narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Loveland 3-1.

Austin Waltemath was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Waltemath was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Brighton's record is now 5-2. As for Chaparral, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Everything went Chaparral's way against Brighton in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Chaparral made off with an 8-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chaparral since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
