Baseball Recap: New Madrid County Central Eagles vs. South Pemiscot Bulldogs
New Madrid County Central had lost 11 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 1-11 to make it 12. They fell just short of the South Pemiscot Bulldogs by a score of 9-8. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 9-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.
Slade Courtois and Drew Allen stepped up to the plate in a big way. Courtois went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Allen got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double. That run was Courtois' first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Lawfield, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.
