Basketball Recap: Gulf Coast Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

Gulf Coast won the last time they faced Naples, and Lilly Fultz did her part to make sure it happened again. The Gulf Coast Sharks breezed by the Naples Golden Eagles to the tune of 49-22 on Thursday thanks in part to Fultz, who went 7 for 12 en route to 23 points and six rebounds. The match was her fifth in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Kiara Rakes, who posted three points. What's more, she also racked up three assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2023.

Gulf Coast pushed their record up to 12-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Naples, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

Gulf Coast has already played their next game, a 56-40 victory against Aubrey Rogers on the 17th. As for Naples, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-54 defeat against Palmetto Ridge on the 17th.
