Softball Game Preview: Grace Baptist Academy Golden Eagles vs. Silverdale Academy Seahawks

Grace Baptist Academy is 0-10 against Silverdale Academy since April of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Seahawks at 5:00 p.m.

Grace Baptist Academy is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game dating back to last season on Monday. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Silverdale Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They beat Oakland by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Seahawks.

Airebis Cox spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Silverdale Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emry Masterson, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI. That's the most hits Masterson has posted since back in March.

Grace Baptist Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Silverdale Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 18-4-1.

Grace Baptist Academy might still be hurting after the 17-0 loss they got from Silverdale Academy in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Golden Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
